A Gift for Starters
Too much thinking makes you dumber!
So here’s a gift of three high-quality 20-minute nature sound recordings for your personal meditation. The benefits of meditation are well established. It’s especially great for tech folk who run highly-utilized noggins. Do youself a favour and slow down, so that your brain can recover and run fast when it’s needed.
The first recording is from Bar Beach at Merimbula. It was early morning and I was on a boardwalk with my new stereo Zoom H6 Handy Recorder ready to go. It runs on AA-batteries and comes with high-quality XY-mic configuration for stereo recording. There are a few noisy bumps etc. but mostly it’s the sounds of gurgling water as Merimbula Lake and the Pacific Ocean mix together. You’ll hear two boats early in the recording going out for the morning fish, crossing from right speaker to left. Otherwise it’s peaceful water sounds, with birds and occasional distant dog barks
Pambula River |
The second recording was taken at Pambula Beach the same day overlooking the surf. It was a great morning for surfers with light winds and long clean breakers. Half way through this recording a group of greybeard surfers congregate nearish to the recorder to discuss how good the surf is.
And finally I recorded nearby around the point at Pambula River. One of my most favorite spots in the world. The surf is more distant in this recording, but there is the continuous sparkling chatter of bird life. My favorite part in this is when two women walk past and one says: “…I love it…. I love actually…”. A few minutes later a yound boy and his dad walked past with their fishing gear.
Enjoy!
